  3. Here are two replacements for your trash can.
  4. A box with a trash bag.
  5. A bucket.
  6.  
  7. 1.  Make a COPY of your system ( never, never, never use ResEdit on your actual system ).
  8. 2.  Open ResEdit.  Open the trash replacement you choose.  Open the system copy.  Copy everything from the trash replacement and paste them in your system copy.  **the resource numbers are correct, so don't change them**
  9. 3.  Move your real system out of your system folder.  Put the system copy ( sans the word 'copy' after system ) into the system folder.  Restart.  If all is well, dispose of the ( now ) old system.

  11. I, of course, take no responsibility for your 'puter getting fried just in case it does.  However, not to worry, changing your trash can is one of the easiest and safest things to do with resEdit.
